An update, at long last (sigh of relief).
I trust you all had a great Christmas and enjoyed the fall of the Eleventh? Apologies for the lack of updates recently, it has been WEEKS since we've done anything with the mod. That's the thing with the festive period, it absorbs more of your time than you'd realise.
That's partly the truth anyway.
In truth, I'm far too busy with my life right now to be focusing on the mod. 2014 is going to be a very, very hectic year for me, with big career changes and commuting times involved, not to mention the preparing and funding for a wedding.
That being said, I'm going to take stock of what's been done so far in high detail and try and get in touch with Spyduck (haven't spoken to him since... November?)
So if you can hear the vultures circling, there's legitimate reason. The Cloister Bell's tolling, and it looks like I'm going to have to come to 1 of three outcomes;
- Shelve it for the future when I've got the time for it
- Hand it over to Spyduck (which is the most likely option)
- Release it as it is in its unfinished state and let the public work on it (an option I like the idea of in some respects)
I'll be reviewing things in the New Year, so let's get next week out of the way, and then I'll come back to you all, as you deserve another update for being so tenacious.

Well do whatever you think is best for you that is. All I can do is thank you for the wonderful mods you have already given us, anyway happy new year.
In my humble humble opinion, I reckon that both options release options can please everyone. Anyone who wants to get the unfinished one to work upon and explore can have it, and anyone who wants to wait for spyduck's nicely finished version can simply wait for that. And then you, Kris, can finally rid yourself of is burden in the back of your mind and progress with life without having to worry about this.

Kris,
I feel that the public should be able to consume and work on the mod as a collective whole. That is why option 3 seem's the most prevalent option in my opinion.
I agree option 3 does seem like the best road to take, Spyduck could still work on it however he pleases alongside the public, but after all its up to you of course.
I am liking the sound of option 3 as at least we will have some more of yours and spyducks great work and also enabling the community to get involved keeping the mod alive and allowing it to act as a teaser, but if u got the regen side finished i would personally be happy with just that to download
thanks for the great work :)
Option 3 makes sense Dem... As long as you have regeneration down... with the arms outstreched animation or something, I'm happy.
I agree with everyone else, I think option 3 would be a good choice. So people (like me) who want to screw around with the work you've already done can. And for the people that want to wait, nothing is stopping them from waiting. Either way if you pick option one two or three, I think the outcome will be good either way. Thanks for working so hard on the mod Kris, from all of us.
Congratulations on the wedding (if it is yours)and I'm thankful to at least know the future of FW, I tend to agree with most of the people here, but really I think you could take some elements from the Oblivion Tardis mod (which I assume you haven't made yourselves, but it would be excellent if you did) the one by Eohlin seems to have had the most development on it.
Seasons greetings and a happy new year to all
Give it to spyduck, he's bound to have more time to work on it.
I say option 3 would be best
I don't think you guys honestly understand option three.... Sure, Demeggy could release it as is, but are you guys seriously expecting it to be all polished and shiny? Because it won't be. If you guys thought the first release of Fallout Who was buggy (I wouldn't know, I couldn't play it), then this will be ten times worse. There is a reason Demggy is retiring, and that's because the work required to make a mod as big as this even functional is tantamount to a proper developer's duties, something which is too much to ask of someone we've never even met. And you guys want to hand it over to the public? Sure, there are talented modders out there, and yes some of you may be them, but you're saying to give the mod, something Demeggy and company have worked on for years and years, to complete strangers? And have them respect the resources and codes and models that the Fallout Who team have struggled to create? And when I talk about the public, I am of course excluding the followers on this site, because a few of you in the past, and present, have sought to actively contribute to the mod. Now this is just my opinion, and I know it doesn't count for much, but I'd rather see the community wait for one wholesome, streamlined Fallout Who experience, then have dozens of knock-off mods all being a hollowed out representation of what the public could've had. Now, I don't know who could actually take the reigns from Demeggy, well that's a lie, his name rhymes with FlyBuck, but I would rather have anyone than have this mod salvaged and picked clean of its original premise by complete strangers.... That's just my two cents (which with current exchange rates, probably counts as less than half a cent).
Nope we do not expect it to be finished but as fans of fallout who we will work on the mod
Good to hear from you! 2014 does sound hectic indeed, the best of luck with all aspects of that!...
As for the mod, well, it's your mod, so you decide what you personally think is best.
Option 1 would be he easiest I suppose, since it would still be you heading it, but that could be a long time before it sees the light of day...
Option 2 would mean it is sill yours and Spyduck's original plans and expectations that would be implemented, but if Spyduck gives up or whatever else then we'd be in the same situation again.
I think I prefer the idea of option 3; it would take a huge weight from your shoulders, and give other people the chance to contribute their ideas and what-not. But as Annon said, there are one or two possible issues with that...
Either way, it is your decision and everyone should respect that, whatever you choose :)
We'll as it should, I would give the mod to spy duck as I always wanted to see what else he could have in store for Fallout Who and judging that the mod could be shelved until further notice. it would still be nice to have spy duck take the stand and possibly make it 10 times as better.
as long as regeneration is completed, im fine with you shelving it for the time being. But i would prefer if you handed it to spyduck to see what he can come up with. That's really just my opinion, there's no reason to go spreading it around.
I could do without the mission if it came right down to it. Would be happy just having Who related monsters randomly spawn to fight around the Wastes. Wouldn't mind the regeneration but hey we get what we get. Just hope something comes out before I gotta ship out. If not thank you for all the great work you've done so far. You're the only reason I got Fallout.
It'd be pretty nice if cha released it to the public, handled the mod to Spyduck, so he can work along with the fans, who'll be most likely catchin' out those bugs. And then, when you have time, you might just vivsit and look at all the job that's done~ We all love you, fearless leader :D
I think handing it over to Spyduck or shelving it for now would be best. We've been waiting this long, we can wait a bit more, even though God knows I'm super impatient to play the mod. I'd like to see it in a finished, bug free-ish update before I pay it.
Don't lie to yourself, nobody can wait a bit more. I'm sorry but it's my opinion that everybody wants a version of this as early as possible. I doubt shelving it is a good idea, i think it will annoy a lot of people, myself included. Just my opinion.
I vote Spyduck gets it, If it's released to the public we'll no doubt have hundreds of various low quality mods that are made by people who don't know what they're doing at all
I know there is a lot of concern with people releasing lots of low quality mods if option three is chosen... But if the forums are used, and if the people wanting to contribute communicate effectively with each other then maybe the mods made by others will be pretty dam good... I mean there are a lot of talented modders out there, I'm sure they wouldn't mind working together to help out with a mod and fandom we all love :)
Honestly I think choice three would be the best. Yes guys there may be a bunch of people messing with the mod but does that really mean it's a bad thing? Good could actually come from people messing with the mod and they may actually adding new and exciting things to it. Just think we could have new TARDIS interiors, new creatures, maybe even new game mechanics. This could also be jointed with giving SpyDuck the mod as well. SpyDuck can eventually come out with the mod as it was supposed to be while the public can make different changes to it.
i think option 2 or 3 I would like 3 if there was thought put in to it. eg: a team that would be put together to work on the mod there are a lot of talented people here. an plus then kris can then walk in an out of the mod when life allows.
Vote a mix of Option 2 and 3, Spyduck should get it, then assemble a team of people working with him.
Me and Cookiemorph are already volunteering, no doubt Tardisblue wants to be on there too.
If I had to vote, I'd agree with DoctorWhose; have the project passed onto people who already have a hand in it, such as Spyduck, Cookie and DoctorWhose. Regardless, thanks so much for all your work on this.
While I also think option 3 sounds like a good idea, I'm worried that many of us, while knowing how to install and use mods; along with some mini patches, may lack knowledge to build quality work. Well, if it's simple things like clothing, I'm sure it'll be fine. But in terms of finishing incomplete quests, idk.. but either way, thank you for all the hard work you've done. I haven't even touched the first version of the mod waiting for the next release. So finished or unfinished, I anticipate it's release <3
I personally reckon you do 2&3, give out the unfinished version of course claiming that it is incomplete and will have various glitches and bugs. Then give the project over to spyduck and his crack team of modders like doctorwhose, tardisblue, cookiemorph.
I second Novabeam's suggestion, because I would love to play with what's finished so far, but I would never be able to improve upon it because I don't know the first thing about modding, so it would be nice if Spyduck and the others could finish it and release the final product when it's ready.
Soooo
next week's out of the way
At least try and have a bit of patience. It's not like we're paying for it or anything...
I agree with Novabeam as well. Let people play test the mod then they can submit bugs and such to Spyduck and his team.
Quiet Here Lately
Another update would be appreciated
The quicker you get this decision done Demeggy, the quicker you can move on?
Who would have thought fans of a show about time travel would be so impatient.
Yes I know the latest update suggested another update before now but remember it is quite a taxing mod, which represents a lot of work on his part so I doubt any decision would be taken lightly.
That said he does also apparently have quite a busy life so try to be a little more patient.
Ya dudes, he'll take as long as he needs to come to whatever decision works best for him. He's not avoiding anyone, he's living his real life, something much more important than any of our mod needs, or the gifts he has given us so far. Impatient imput is likely just to annoy him even if he reads it, and if he doesn't read it that means he's not going to see it anyways till it won't matter. I'd really like to play the mod too, but let's be nice.
What Happened To Riker
Pass it onto Spyduck and release it, I think. That way, the greater public will be able to play what's done and even act as testers to report any bugs they find back here. Spyduck can then work on fixing those before or while working on the project.
I've got to say some people are really impatient and are kinda out of line with saying things and pushing for answer I know things are tedious with time and waiting alot but if you push him too hard he will quit COMPLETELY and we don't want that, remember demeggy spyduck and co are people as well and deserve to have free time themselves we aren't paying so just back off a bit and leave them to it
xg42, I agree with you somewhat, although I am anxious for a release if not an update. However, I believe that Demeggy and Spyduck are just suffering from Overwhelming holiday events syndrome, I'm sure that they'll be back soon, hopefully with good news
Perhaps either way all that can be done is waiting patiently in the mean time... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NBtHW-xWbM just to help people get by ;D
Pretty cool regeneration mod for FNV while we wait.
