What's new?

What isn't?

The TARDIS has had a dramatic lift in the past week. Both Spyduck and I have been working around the clock to bring a pretty epic mod to life as yes, we started from scratch.

The decision to do this wasn't taken lightly, but after numerous issues with current scripts and general mod infrastructure, we decided it imperative to take a clean approach. Recycling all assets and previous scripts and designs, we've simply pulled apart the Hashed Frankenmod that was FWV Out of Time, and re-pieced it together in a clean, and efficient fashion to come up with FWV: 2.0

So what's this achieved?

More than I can have dreamt of. I've been working on this for years now, and I have to admit, I am buzzing - no - bursting, with excitement.

Multiple Desktop configurations, yes, as teased this weekend, we've included multiple control room themes from the entire 50 year stretch.
New systems designed to giver you much more configuration over your own TARDIS using a unique Power Distribution system. More on this soon, but it works, and by god does it let you construct the TARDIS of your dreams.
A bigger TARDIS; Everyone knows the TARDIS is pretty damn big on the side, and now, you can explore it to your hearts content with an array of multiple floors connected via actual working anti-gravity lifts. We're just that damn clever (you wait until you see how it works, you'll end up spitting your Earl Grey over the keyboard).
A streamlined, unique quest, which will get you behind the wheel quicker than before whilst retaining a level of narrative we didn't feel the need to skimp out on.
A redesigned flight engine; with practise and experience, we've come up with a way more efficient way of getting the TARDIS from point A to point B.

At time of writing, we are steaming through this. Spyduck's working the nights, and I'm working the days, around time at the office and the disgruntled pleasure of Mrs Demeggy.

So, please bear with us. We've kept it going for long enough, but I sincerely promise, it will be worth it, and what better a year to produce and release this than the very year of the 50th Anniversary.

Edit: Also worth noting there's the inclusion of another infamous enemy to the ranks. Definitely keeping this one on the lowdown for now though, but rest assured, you'll be pleasantly surprised...

Allonsy! (sp)

YES! Changing the Desktop theme, I LOVE YOU GUYS! This is going to be the number one Doctor Who mod EVER! It is perfect, a perfect game to mod into the Doctor Who game we've all been dreaming about! Fantastic, brilliant and the darn coolest thing I've EVER seen! Thank you, Demeggy and Spyduck! Keep on the good work!

Just saw the anti-grav corridor mechanics at work over on Spyduck's channel... Needless to say.. Both of you are brilliant! Hundreds of years into the future, schoolchildren will be in their classes studying art the likes of Leonardo Da Vinci and Vincent Van Gogh.. And you know who else they'll be studying? Fallout Who! I can see it now...

Thanks all. I've just taken the TARDIS for a spin, but I left the wheel to explore the ships interior and with nobody controlling it, the Time Shields disabled and she took a severe battering... Without a functioning Demat Circuit, she crashlanded and ontop of that, I attempted a 'Patc Repair' on the Flux Capacitor which went horribly wrong, blew the component and begun a slow onset of Time Dilation.

Incredible fun.

You clearly were'nt hitting it with a hammer enough

Sounds incredible! If you don't mind my asking, how far along with development are you guys?.. because it sounds like you have a lot of content already implemented even though you've "started from scratch"!

Another 2/3 weeks of development at this pace, final testing, then release. Providing nothing happens.

Cwang92 said...

Please please please please nothing happen! I'll be taking time after this to pray lol. Huh. So.. Providing a stable work enviournment for the next few weeks... It could be out by March 30th? Coincidence? I think not!

Hello again. I know I haven't said anything for the past few months (back when you needed beta testers). But with this update, I just have to say that I can't wait for the release! I have been keeping up with every single update you guys have made and at Spyduck,s channel! You guys are AWESOME!

Cwang92: To clarify, we've "started from scratch" in the sense of how everyhing fits together and plays, and the actual mod file itself. The art and script assets are all still there, so it won't take more ages to make them all.

That did indeed clarify things for me.. Thank you Mr. Spyduck.

This mod just needs good publicity.. I'm sure there are dozens, if not hundreds, of Doctor Who afficionados who also play New Vegas that don't even know this mod is even in development! It just upsets me to think that the number of followers that have been around from the beginning is just a fraction of what the potential crowd could be! Sorry, I'm rambling, just had to put that out there. Anyways... I saw a cloud today. It was grey. That is all.

Awesome work guys! I can't wait, I was a huge fan of the Last Child of Gallifrey mod for FO3 and imagine that this mod will mesh even better into the FNV world. Much kudos!

Can't wait for this! Been an avid follower for some time and it seems that the long wait is nearly over!

When I think about this mod, one part of of my brain tells me not to give my hopes up, and to not put unreachable expectations onto something that can never possibly live upto them. Then another part of my brain tells that part of my brain to screw itself... So you guys really do have me conflicted.

A question guys, with all your streamlining and stuff, are the special locations initially planned for the episodic releases still there?
