Feb 15 - FWV 1.X No Longer Available for Download

An important update today.

Fallout Who Vegas has being removed from the Nexus in preparation for the final build; a much bigger, bolder and brighter version of Fallout Who, featuring a playable Time Lord Race, new and improved TARDIS with additional desktop themes systems and modes, new alien adversaries and quest content.

Progress on the mod has been swift lately, although delayed this week due to sickness in the team, but we're driving ahead to get this out ASAP.

FWV 2.0 will be delivered in 2 bursts:

Wave One will contain the new introductory quest, the TARDIS and all of its new systems including the additional Classic Era desktop, a plethora of ne witems and Sonic Casings to adopt, Drift Mode (including Space Combat and encounters with a couple of the alien adversaries to wet your appetities before taking them fully on), and the playable Time Lord race with a rudimentary companion system.

Wave Two will shortly follow, and will contain playable quest content and some interesting new features.

That sounds fantastic! I hope whoever was sick is feeling better now, and you guys are amazing for actually getting this stuff out despite your busy lives. Thanks so much!

Okay :) about the 1.02 patch that you release to fix minor bugs and the missing files patch will they still be needed for 2.0?

1.X (anything to do with 1.0) will not work correctly with 2.0

Well, my birthday is on the 25th this month. If I'm lucky I might get the perfect present... Great work all of you, and thanks so much for using your spare time to make this, it truly is my top favorite Fallout mod. :D

I reckon it would be a bad move to be indulged with a release date.

No offence to the Team, but people who have been around since LCOG will know that time restraints & the pressure that comes along with them have not worked well with Fallout Who at all.

I reckon you just tease & tease us until the release, and then we can all be the happiest Fallout players in the known universe (and beyond!)

Dracony said...

I havn't noticed anything about a release date, they only said they wanted to get it out ASAP. And if my memory serves me right Demeggy promised himself to never give released dates again, after almost giving up on the mod one week before release.

Hey Liam, long time no see. And you're right, we wouldnt want to go down that path again. Just be sure in the knowledge that by taking down 1.0X, we're getting close...

Hey Fallout Who Team, I have discovered a way for you to get payed doing this mod or a simple donation system for all that hard work you put in making this mod. So I present to you... https://www.patreon.com/signup?ty=creator&ru=%2Fcreate%3Frgsn%3D1

Hope you guys take in consideration.

Kris said...

Thans Spectre, thats very thoughtful, but for legal reasons we cannot accept any donations or payment for the mod. The licenses, the copyrights, they're all owned by the developers and publishers of New Vegas, and the BBC for the Who content. But just the notion is appreciated :)

Guys, I'm overwhelmed this eve. Thanks for the support!

My comment was more of a response to the gentlemen who were asking if we would have it by 25th Feb or before 30th March.

My excite for this mod is unreal. Your blog posts are such the tease, every single one has me in awe at the content you are putting into this. Keep up the fantastic work, guys!

Sonic casings? Are they new screwdrivers? Or are they something completely different?

SavingLiam said...

Same screwdriver, different case.

Dracony said...

I didn't ask if it would be out by the 25th, but it sure would be a nice suprise if it was. Nevertheless it looks like it will be out in the near future, which is great! When this is done I sure hope you guys take a big break, you really deserve it. In the meantime I'll watch some good 'ol Doctor Who and keep on checking this blog. :3

How do the sonic casings work? Or anyone with just info on what the casings are, or whatever?

Dracony said...

Jugding by what Demeggy said on the forums: "To confirm, Sonic Casings will be switchable from the Upgrades workbench in the lab. They all contain the same settings.", I guess that you just change how the current Matt Smith screwdriver model looks, and you can do that through the Upgrades workbench.

Will leveling up the piloting and temporal engineering still require grinding xp pointlessly or will that change in some way

Mmmm... I'm in the mood, the mood for some moddin'!

New save required to rule out potential glitches and take full advantage of some of the reworked features.
Skills have been tweaked to make them less 'grindy', and there's a LOT more to build now.

Anonymous said...

If you don't mind me asking, what else is there left to do?

Kris said...

Not much, rewriting some glitchy scripts, getting some final assets in, bit of debugging, the usual.

Star Lord said...

Oh, this will be fantastic! Absolutely fantastic!

Thanks so much for all the work you guys are putting in to this! Mod of a lifetime, I tell you. or rather, mod of 13 lifetimes...

So excited for the mod guys! In all seriousness, this is the reason I still have FNV on my computer. Anyway, will the previously mentioned outfits of the Doctors be in the upcoming release?

Tardisblue said...

They should be friend! :)

Ah, I remember waiting for the initial version of Wave 1 to release. It's been so long and I can hardly wait for this new release. Excellent work and well done to the entire FWV team!

Unknown said...

A simple question will the weeping angels come in the wave 2? :including Space Combat and encounters with a couple of the alien adversaries to wet your appetities before taking them fully on

kik4444 said...

Um guys, why does the blog suddenly stop at the updated 4th feb and doesn't show the monthly filters for the posts?

kik4444 said...

Actually, NVM, it was a problem on my side

Anonymous said...

I don't get it, it's stated here FWV is no longer available for download but it's still on the Nexus.

Anonymous said...

Then again it also says "it has being removed" so it's not clear if it is removed or is being removed.

Anonymous said...

any news on when we might get the trailer?

echris56 said...

Not to be a pest, but how long until we get another update? Also, any estimate on how long it will be until we get the trailer?
